2. The Regulator's Guide (section 10)

A copy of the Guide can also be requested from us.
3. Records automatically available
Website content, product descriptions, pricing, and the legal pages (Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, Refund Policy, Cookie Policy, this Manual) are freely available at https://idchecker.co.za without a PAIA request.
4. Records we hold

5. How to request a record (section 53)
- Complete Form 2 (Request for Access to Record) from the Regulator's website, or email us the same details: your identity, the record you want, the format you want it in, and the right you wish to exercise or protect if you're requesting someone else's information.
- Send it to support@idchecker.co.za.
- The prescribed request fee and access fees under the PAIA Regulations may apply (personal requesters asking for their own information pay no request fee).
- We respond within 30 days as PAIA requires. If we refuse, we give reasons and you may complain to the Information Regulator or apply to court.
6. POPIA processing description (Regulation 25(1)(a); Condition 6 openness)
Purposes of processing: generating and delivering purchased verification reports; order administration and payment; fraud prevention; statutory record-keeping.
Categories of data subjects and information:
(a) website visitors — server logs;
(b) buyers — identity, contact, order and consent records;
(c) persons/entities who are the subject of reports — identity numbers and identity attributes, life-status information (deceased/marital), Home Affairs photo where the product includes it, contact and address records, employment records, directorships, vehicle registration data.
Recipients: VerifyNow (Pty) Ltd (operator, under a written data processing agreement) and its official data sources (Department of Home Affairs, CIPC, registered bureau channels, vehicle registers); our payment provider; our hosting provider.
Cross-border flows: none in the ordinary course; processing and hosting occur in South Africa.
Security measures: TLS on all connections; non-web-accessible report storage with unique tokened download links; automatic deletion of reports after 30 days; masking of identity numbers in administrative logs; access restricted to the Information Officer; breach notification to the Regulator via its eServices portal in terms of section 22 of POPIA.
